Jake Berry, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and Minister for the Northern Powerhouse and Local Growth has today [8th March 2018] officially opened Atlas Pile Testing Systems’ brand-new production line, which manufactures the state-of-the-art Titan range, fully automated and unmanned static load testing systems for the piling and geotechnical industries.
The new production line forms part of the company’s continuous growth strategy, that has seen it invest in both plant and personnel to successfully market and sell the Titan range of pile testing systems to customers UK and world-wide.
Located in Bury, close to the company’s existing Head Office, the production line will boost both production of the new testing systems, as well as provide a boost to the local economy as there are plans to recruit staff to meet growing demand.
Rory O’Rourke, CEO of The Datum Group, said: “It was an honour to have Jake Berry MP launch the new production line, which represents a significant investment by the company, which is growing to support demand for the Titan range of pile testing systems. This ensures that the team at Atlas Pile Testing Systems has total visibility and control over the manufacturing process, which is essential to ensure the high standards of workmanship that The Datum Group demands for its customers.
Jake Berry, Minister for the Northern Powerhouse, said: “Datum is a great example of a globally-connected Northern Powerhouse business that is making a fantastic contribution to the regional – and national – economy. With 120 staff and the new machinery now being exported to China, companies like this demonstrate that the Northern Powerhouse truly is where the innovators and makers can be found.”
